Five Questions Before You Sleep
Seneca's method for closing a day.
Every night, when the lamp went out, Seneca examined his day. He retraced what he did and said, and hid nothing from himself. He claimed nothing improved his sleep more.
Most of us end the day the opposite way. Scrolling until the mind gives out, carrying the same mistakes into tomorrow, unexamined.
The practice takes five minutes. A journal helps but isn’t required.
What did I do well today?
Where did I act against my own standards?
What took my attention that didn’t deserve it?
If today repeated tomorrow, what would I change?
Did I treat the people around me the way I intended to?
Don’t punish yourself for the answers. A mistake that gets examined rarely survives the week. A mistake that doesn’t can run your whole life.
Good night.

I've cut and pasted these questions and set a daily reminder so I can use them daily. Thank you!
Reminds me a bit of Loyola's Examin. 🙏🏽✨️
