The only good and evil in life are voluntary good and bad.
The only good or bad in the world comes from our thoughts and actions. Only from things we have complete control over.
When you act morally, it’s good.
When you lie and cheat to get a material benefit, it’s bad.
When you stay calm in the face of adversity, it’s good.
When you get pissed out by someone cutting you off in traffic, it’s bad.
Those are things you have complete control over. When you do something bad, it’s a voluntary act and thus could be avoided.
When you decide to take the right path, it’s good. When you decide to take the wrong path, it’s bad.
Now, what about the things we don’t control? How could we label them as good or bad?
Is a sunset good or bad?
How about a growing tree?
How about death and illness?
All of the above are equal parts of nature and thus not good or bad.
Those are things we don’t control and thus should not judge.
Only judge your own thoughts and actions.
